What is Early Years at Nanny McFiFi’s Childcare?

The early years are the most important part of a child’s life. It equips them with the skills they need for the rest of their educational journey.  At Nanny McFiFi’s, we strive to build their confidence, promote a positive mindset and support their early steps into education whilst ensuring the children are given the nurturing and quality care that they would expect from their caregivers at home.

 Characteristics of Effective Learning
When planning children’s activities we must look at how each child learns about the three characteristics of effective teaching and learning.  We do this by getting to know the children and offering a ‘child-led’ approach to learning. Playing and Exploring - children investigate and experience things, and ‘have a go’Active Learning - children concentrate and keep on trying if they encounter difficulties, and enjoy achievements. Creating and thinking critically - children have and develop their ideas, make links between ideas, and develop strategies for doing things.

Learning through PlayPlay is vital in the early years and it’s important to learn the value of turn-taking, being a good friend and helping each other succeed.  Play can support all of this.  At Nanny McFiFi’s, we mix child-led and adult-led activities to master the skills needed for life and to promote a school-ready attitude to encourage positive experiences and to enjoy learning.
